Dystopian-Themed Books

Firstly, if you don't know what "dystopia" is, please search up the definition. Otherwise this post will make no sense whatsoever.
I love dystopia because it is so creative. Sometimes there is a zombie apocalypse, maybe an alien invasion, maybe a big plague happened and alongside that the whole lifestyle changed. There is such a big variety of dystopian books to read. Frankly, the possibilities are endless.
This is my main genre of books that I enjoy, in case you were wondering. Yeah, I like adventure and the occasional fantasy, but nothing can beat my love for dystopia. The style is so intriguing. It makes you actually wonder if that's what the world will become in the future. Woah. Imagine being split into factions. Cool.
Sometimes the concept of dystopia freaks me out. The authors that I have read books from use such descriptive language that I feel as though I'm actually there. I end up thinking of scenarios of me getting attacked by an alien invasion. It's actually quite frightening.

I'm on March Break

March Break is a holiday from the 10-14 where I get to stay home and sleep in. Don't forget, I've got weekends included. To top it off, I had a PD Day (Professional Development Day) so I didn't have to go to school on Friday either. Counting weekends and all, I have a ten days off. How fun!
I plan on waking up early to visit the lake and watch the sun rise. Snap some photos, too. I also plan on taking photos outdoors for once. It's been rather frigid this winter, so I haven't really been able to use my camera outside much. But, the temperature has been improving to above freezing, so I will definitely take advantage of it. Apparently, more arctic air will be moving in near my area after Tuesday, so I need to hurry.
I plan to finish a book that I'm reading for school and start reading the City of Ember series. It looks interesting.
So that's how my March Break will go, how will yours?

Thanks for reading.

DIY Room Decoration Project

Recently, I have been a bit bored with my room. Specifically the walls. My violet-y purple walls. They were so blank. I knew I needed to add a bit of pizzazz. So, I took on the risky project of decorating my room. Not regular decorating, DIY decorating.
In case you don't know what DIY stands for, it means 'Do-It-Yourself'. Basically, you're making your own homemade decorations. This option it a bit risky because it may look cheap and rushed. But if you do it right, you'll be fine.
I added two new things to my wall, the first is a wall sticker. I was strolling around at the dollar store because my sister needed some paint for her school project. I came across wall stickers in the arts and crafts aisle. I found great designs of bamboo sticks, flowers, skulls and others too. I was drawn towards the one with pink, purple and blue flowers. I picked that one up because it matched my room perfectly. My sister picked  up the bamboo one because her room is an "earthly" theme. Her colour scheme is brown, green and beige. Mine is purple, pink and white.
I also wanted another decoration. I had been thinking of this one for a while now. Since I am into photography, I decided it would be cool to get some of my best photos developed so that I can hang them around my room, showing me the progress over time. I was just going to stick them on the wall though (how boring). I wanted to do something different. I decided to take some straw-y string and hang that around my room. Then, I would use wooden clothespins to hand up each photo, side by side. Eventually, the photos will add up and my room will be decorated.
So that's two of the ways I decided to spice up my boring walls.
